Students Walk Out Over Teacher's Suspension for Anti-Bush Comments
I recently asked a relative of mine if they had any thoughts on why Philosophy and/or Critical Reasoning courses aren't taught in American high schools (to be fair, I'm sure there are a few out there). His response included the idea that most communities probably wouldn't support it, solely because people would worry too much about what was being taught to their kids-- like witchcraft, or some other kind of satanic, brainwashing, esoteric fountain of ungodly pedagogy.
Updates: Here's a transcript of the segment of the lecture in question.
And a copy of the course syllabus.
And a short video of Bennish speaking to reporters (upper-right).
