Zen Query
Why is it?
Why is it that certain religions-- hallmarks of peace and 'right' living-- keep on fighting with each other?
(... cloudy vision, vision too clear)
Why is it that only the crappy movies are promptly rented from video stores, and when you go to get a good movie-- one that is rarely checked out-- it just happens to be checked out? (...attainment comes not from trying to attain, but rather, from attaining)
Why do streetlights always flicker or go out when I stand beneath them?
(... strange energy vacuum, lack the vocabulary to explain this phenomenon)
Why do people insist on ignoring things, instead of trying to improve upon them, thus truly doing away with whatever needs/needed attention?
("Work is hard. I quit")
Why do people so insist on avoiding one another?
(...)
Why do people say one thing, and do the complete opposite?
(... unwilling, unaware, misunderstood, deceitful, afraid, *any or all of the above)
Why, within a mere month of two supreme court judges being appointed, is there legislation to completely outlaw abortion in South Dakota?
(I know, it's only on the state level, but coincidence I think not)
Why is there so much wealth in the hands of a few? Did so many people just not try hard enough?
Why do drivers rarely notice you on your bicycle, and if they do, proceed to look at you like you're some kind of nuisance?
Why were 5 or 6 sections of remedial math at the college I attended always packed full of students?
Why do so many people enjoy watching others be humiliated?
Why do we think that we are rational, when all things considered, we're a pretty absurd breed of animal? Why do we think everything is absurd, when all things considered, the whole of existence is vastly beautiful?
(...immediate appearances tend to decieve the perceptions)
Why do I ask?
