Haiku You Friday

Not much time to post
haiku is all that's left now
at the present state

the seeds you sow will
remain long after you are
there and back again

poetry me? what?
no clever intention, just
words arranged in form

It was Kerouac that got me into haiku, though he did them differently, paying no heed to the apparent proper structure of haiku(the whole 5-7-5 syllable progression), but rather, did haiku in a way that made one feel it, or taste it by bringing to mind extremely vivid images. Here's a few from Kerouac:

Eat your eggs
and
Shut up

Girls' footprints
in the sand
--Old mossy pile

What makes the world
go around?
Between the stems

Someone said to me recently that if one knows the rules (of writing), they're free to break them. Kerouac did that, and is one of the greatest writers ever; something to remember.
