Re: Nick and the disenfranchised
You're right, this is a problem. I told you that I could show you why it is important to vote, not necessarily why Kerry is a better candidate; that one's a no-brainer in my view, and is exactly the point. If these are the choices we have for candidates, then why not at least vote for someone that you feel could do a better job than the bush junta, aka, Kerry. If he does a horrible job, then, in four years, we vote again, that's the way our democracy works. Sadly enough, people are stuck on party lines and the chances of someone from an independent party winning are nill, and this is the larger problem; not enough people care and/or are not involved enough to give an independent enough of a chance of winning. The solution, it would seem, is to get more people involved, keep people properly informed (which I'm not sure is possible in this age of information) and most of all, vote. Why? BECAUSE YOU CAN, DAMNITT. IF MORE PEOPLE VOTED, OR WERE "INVOLVED", MAYBE THE POLITICAL CLIMATE WOULDN'T BE THE WAY IT IS TODAY. Your thoughts...
