Good reason to vote...
I found an article that was written for the american prospect in which the possibility of a second dubya term is reflected upon. Here it is. I assume, from my completely biased standpoint mind you, that most reasonable people (aka, people that can think... not to say that dubya devotees can't think, but rather are ill informed or something... no really, I like people and their opinions, but some opinions are justified and some aren't, in my opinion) are afraid of such a possibility. The article, while mildly speculatory, manages to paint a not-so-pretty picture of the post-election dubya days, assuming he gets elected, and this can't happen.
I've talked to a lot of people lately about voting, how they feel about it, and whether they intend to do so at all. The overall feel I get is that many don't intend on voting, for various reasons with the top reason being, "dude, my vote doesn't even matter"... sigh ... I know there's all kinds of hoopla about the 2000 election and particular swing states making some votes count for little or nothing. But the fact remains that the more votes, the better, no matter how you put it, even if one in every five is counted, that person who didn't vote could have been the 1st of 5. I heard recently that it will take as long to vote as it does to go to the store and rent a few movies... 30 TO 45 MINUTES, MAYBE, unless it's like one of those nights where you just can't decide what to rent. So, read this. Then go here and register... laters.
