All baseball, no cheney...
The V.pee went to enjoy a "good ball game" only to be booed by the crowd when shown on one of the ballpark videoscreens. The crowd booed... boooooooooooooooooo. At the V.pee. There is mention of this in an espn article that I found via the crankpot.
On a more frightening note, the head of federal voting commission, Deforest B. Soaries, has announced that they are seeking government guidelines for what to do in the event that a terra attack prevents or postpones a presidential election...
If this is true, what makes it even more interesting is that---
"Soaries was appointed to the federal Election Assistance Commission last year by President Bush. Soaries said he wrote to National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice and Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge in April to raise the concerns."
I realize the obvious implications are completely speculatory, yet scary to think about. I have had a bad feeling about possible roads the monkey could lead us down since he was elected, who knows what'll happen next... Again, found the article at the crankpot, who said it best when they said, shit.

How does Buyankasha feel about Ralph Nader running?
Also, after seeing Fahrenheit 9/11's piece on the Florida vote count, do you still think it is important to vote, will the controversy discourage people from voting?
Some notes that might interest you:
UTVS reported that St. Cloud State University's new stadium and Atwood expansion will cost each student a $6 per credit increase in activities fees. That's over $1,000 each 4 year student will pay just for the improvements.
Intrest rates have gone up (no real surprise), but does anyone actually know someone who was being charged a 1% intrest rate? I don't know how these things work, but the all time low of yesterday didn't seem that good to me.
Someone told me tonight that if minimum wage were adjusted for inflation that it should be over $8/hr - that sounds about right to me, but I don't know where he got that info. It seems like there are plenty of jobs now, they just don't pay much. Is there any way to raise minimum wage without a jump in inflation? They seem to be directly related.
The scientist, Richard P. Feynman, once served on a California committee which chose books for the State Board of Education. In his book, Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman, he writes that most of the members on the committee never actually read the books. They were more swayed by which publisher gave them the best gifts. Because the Board of Education wants to put education first, they claim to want to choose the best quality books and therefore don't consider price in their decision. On one rare occasion the committee was split between two books, so they decided to allow the cost to be factored into their decision. When the publishers heard this, they immeadiately cut 2 million dollars off of the price tag.
A correction to the UTVS note: "that's over $700 each 4 year student will pay..."
