"Christ-centered Duty"

So... Jesus and guns. Is this a way to rationalize one's beliefs about the problem of evil? I mean, if we're meant to kill each other, then we might as well do it in the name of Jesus. Would Jesus have owned a gun? I'll bet there isn't a single spot in the New Testament that mentions guns. Well, maybe that's beside the point.
